MetReal Cluster meets in Bonn to join forces in enabling real-world data use in healthcare

Organized by Real4Reg project coordinators in Bonn, Germany, MetReal Cluster had another opportunity to meet and discuss possible cross-collaboration activities within its six projects. The meeting aimed to identify collaboration possibilities in stakeholder engagement and cross-communication to empower RWD use in research and regulatory purposes.

The meeting was split into two parts, focusing on project presentations and collaboration workshops. In the first part of the meeting, all MetReal Cluster projects – Real4Reg, ONCOVALUE, REALM, More-EUROPA, INSAFEDARE and REDDIE - shared their updates about the project progress, first results from project research, activities that they currently enabled with various stakeholders and next steps in the following months. All participants asked questions about other projects and discovered possible synergies.

In the second part of the day Peter Mol, coordinator of project More-EUROPA, moderated a workshop on Communication strategies and representation of the cluster. This was a particularly important part of the meeting since all projects have a focus on stakeholder engagement and joining efforts in CDE activities could enable better results for all projects ultimately improving the lives of patients across Europe. The coordinator of the project ONCOVALUE, Pekka Kahri, continued with a workshop on creating and enhancing synergies using post-it notes and forming smaller groups that afterwards presented possible collaboration opportunities. The meeting ended with Britta Haenisch from Real4Reg's BFarm which focused on the preparation of future MetReal cluster stakeholder activities.

We are excited about the progress and potential for future collaborations that this workshop has fostered.
